As a father, farmer and son of Western NSW, Andrew knows the value of working hard for your family. Andrew was born and raised in Gilgandra, attending the local primary and high schools before studying a Diploma of teaching at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst.
After teaching, he left the industry to pursue farming. Andrew isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and get to work and he is currently an independent meat processor and the proprietor of Gilgandra Poultry. He has raised beef cattle and meat chickens at his farm for the past 27 years.
The farm employs 12 staff members. Andrew is also highly active in the local community as the Vice President of the Gilgandra Bowling Club, and the President of the Gilgandra Jockey Club for the past 22 years. He is also the Chairman of the Western Racing Association and has held this position for nine years.
Andrew believes the biggest issue facing the Barwon area is water, including irrigation supplies and security for stock and domestic use.
He also believes that regulating land and environment usage is important for the area.
As the father of three girls, Andrew knows the importance of having good local schools and creating opportunities for younger people in the region to improve outcomes in employment, health and for our families.
Andrew would also like to see local communities in Barwon directly benefiting from the generational infrastructure projects being rolled out in the region.
A fresh face in politics, Andrew doesn’t owe any favours to political masters and is not a single issue campaigner. He believes in representing the west and making sure things get done. As a National, his sole focus is working for the people in our Western NSW communities.
